Ingredients

  • 450g/1 lb belly pork (without skin)
  • 7ml/1/2 tbsp salt
  • 45ml/3 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 egg
  • 50-75g/2-3 oz bamboo shoots
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • Sauce:
  • 30ml/2 tbsp sugar
  • 15ml/1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 30ml/2 tbsp tomato sauce or puree
  • 45ml/3 tbsp vinegar
  • 22ml/1 1/2 tbsp corn flour (blended in 90ml/6 tbsp water)
  • 30ml/2 tbsp sherry
  • oil for deep or shallow frying

Serve 6-8

  • 675-900 g (1 1/2-2 lb) spare-ribs
  • 12 ml (3/4 tablespoon) black beans
  • 6 medium plums
  • 10 ml (2 teaspoons) sugar
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) corn flour
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) soy sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) vegetable oil

Chinese Recipes - Pork and Rani Roll with Heart of Chicken Liver Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 thin sheet of fat pork (about 275 g/10 oz)
  • 1 thin sheet of lean pork (slightly smaller)
  • 75 g (3 oz) chicken liver
  • 2 eggs
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) corn flour
  • 3 stalks spring onion
  • 1 thin slice of ham (same dimensions as lean pork)

Marinade for Fat Pork:

  • 7 ml (1/2 tablespoon) salt
  • 22 ml (1 1/2 tablespoons) sherry
  • 10 ml (2 teaspoons) sugar

Marinade for Lean Pork:

  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) soy sauce
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) sherry
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) sugar

    Serve 6-8
