Chinese Recipes – Pure Long-Simmered Steamed Beef Recipe

Ingredients
- 1.35 kg (3 lb) leg or brisket of beef
- 1/2 chicken
- 6 slices root ginger
- 450 g (1 lb) turnips
- 225 g (1 lb) carrots
- 10 ml (2teaspoons) salt
- 1 1/2 chicken stock cubes
- 5-6 large crisp lettuce leaves
Dip:
- 22 ml (1 1/2 tablespoons) salt
- 7 ml (1 1/2 teaspoons) black pepper
Serve 6-8
