Chinese Recipes – Lotus Cooked Beef Pudding Recipe

Ingredients
- 575 g (1 1/4 lb) brisket of beef
- 5 ml (1 teaspoon) salt
- 37 ml (2 1/2 tablespoons) soy sauce
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) hoisin sauce
- 10 ml (2 teaspoons) soy bean curd cheese
- pepper to taste
- 30ml (2 tablespoons) sherry
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) vegetable oil
- 2 slices root ginger
- 2 chili peppers
- 2 medium onions
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) Chinese winter pickle
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) Chinese snow pickle
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) Szechwan Cha Tsai pickle (hot)
- 675 g (1 1/2 lb) potato, or yam
- 350 g (3/4 lb) glutinous rice (pudding rice)
- 5 ml (1 teaspoon) sugar
Serve 6-8
