Compote Recipe
Ingredients
Method:
-
Cover the pears
from the top to form a cavity without cutting
through to the base.

Stand the pears
in a container on a rack in a wok or pan with
water in the bottom to come just below the steaming
rack.

Fill the pears
with the dates and walnuts and coat with honey.

Bring the water
to the boil, cover and steam for about 20 minutes,
topping up wit boiling water as necessary, until the
pears are cooked.

The length of
time will depend on the size and ripeness of the
pears.
