Steamed Pears Recipe
Ingredients

4 pears, peeled

60ml/4 tbsp honey
Method:

Slice off the
tops of the pears about 2.5cm/1 in from the top and
reserve the tops.

Core the pears
from the top, shaping a deep hole without cutting
through the base. Fill with honey and replace the
tops.

Stand the pears
in a container on a rack in a wok or a pan with
water in the bottom to come just below the steaming
rack.

Bring the water
to the boil, cover and steam for about 20 minutes,
topping up with boiling water as necessary, until
the pears are cooked.

The length of
time will depend on the size and ripeness of the
pears.
