Chinese Desserts, Cakes and Confectionery Recipes - Sugared Nuts Recipe

Ingredients

  • 225g/8oz shelled walnuts

  • 300ml/1 1/4 cups boiling water

  • 100g/1/2 cup sugar

  • 120ml/1/2 cup peanut oil


Method:

  1. Place the walnuts in a bowl and pour over the boiling water.

  2. Leave to stand for 30 minute then drain and dry well.

  3. Mix the sugar and oil over a low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  4. Add the nuts and stir until well coated.
