Chinese Desserts, Cakes and Confectionery Recipes - Sweet Peanut Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water

  • 10ml/2 tbsp baking soda

  • 225g/8oz peanuts

  • 225g/8oz/1 cup brown sugar


Method:

  1. Heat the water to lukewarm then stir tin the baking soda. Add the peanuts and bring to the boil.

  2. Cover and simmer for about  1 1/2 hours until soft.

  3. Add the sugar and simmer gently, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Serve hot in small bowls.
