Chinese Nibbles and Drinks Recipes - Grapefruit Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water

  • 450 g/1lb canned grapefruit segments in syrup

  • 100 g/4 oz/1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp corn flour (cornstarch)


Method:

  1. Bring half the water to the boil, add the grapefruit and syrup and the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves then add the remaining water.

  2. Blend the corn flour with a little cold water then stir it into the mixture and bring to the boil.

  3. Simmer, stirring, until the mixture thickens. Serve hot in small bowls.
