Chinese Vegetables Recipes - Braised Lettuce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 head crisp lettuce

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 60 ml/4 tsp chicken stock

  • 5 ml/1 tsp soy sauce


Method:

  1. Separate the lettuce into leaves. Heat the oil and fry the salt and garlic until lightly browned.

  2. Add the lettuce and simmer for 1 minute, stirring to coat the lettuce in oil.

  3. Add the stock and simmer for 2 minutes. Serve sprinkled with soy sauce.
