Chinese Vegetables Recipes - Cabbage with Bacon Shreds
Recipe
Ingredients

350 g/12 oz cabbage,
finely shredded
-
salt
-
3 slices streaky
bacon, cut into
strips
-
30 ml/2 tbsp
groundnut (peanut)
oil
-
2 cloves garlic
-
5 ml/1 tsp grated
ginger root
-
5 ml/1 tsp sugar
-
120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2
cup chicken or
vegetable stock
Method:

Sprinkle the cabbage with salt and leave to stand
for 15 minutes.

Fry the bacon until crisp. Heat the oil and fry the
garlic until lightly browned then discard.

Add the cabbage to the pan with the ginger and sugar
and stir-fry for 2 minutes.

Add the stock and bacon and stir-fry for a further 2
minutes. Serve with fried rice.
