Chinese Vegetables Recipes - Fried Bamboo Shoots Recipe

Ingredients

  • 90 ml/6 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil

  • 1 spring onion, cut into strips

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 1 red chili pepper, cut into strips

  • 225 g/8 oz bamboo shoots

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp thick soy sauce

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp sesame oil


Method:

  1. Heat the oil and stir-fry the spring onion, garlic and chili pepper for 30 seconds.

  2. Add the bamboo shoots and stir-fry until just tender and well coated in the spices.

  3. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil and stir-fry for a further 3 minutes. Serve at once.
