Chinese Vegetables Recipes - Marinated Vegetables Recipe

Ingredients

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil

  • 225 g/8 oz broccoli florets

  • 225 g/8 oz cauliflower florets

  • 100 g/4 oz oyster mushrooms

  • 2 carrots, thinly sliced

  • 1 stick celery, thinly sliced

  • 120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup dry white wine

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp plum sauce

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce

  • juice of 1 orange

  • 5 ml/1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp wine vinegar


Method:

  1. Heat the oil and stir-fry the vegetables for about 5 minutes then transfer them to a bowl.

  2. Add the wine, plum sauce, soy sauce, orange juice and pepper and toss well to mix. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  3. Place the marinated vegetables in a steamer, cover and cook over gently boiling water to which the wine vinegar has been added for about 15 minutes.
