Chinese Vegetables Recipes - Steamed Chinese Leaves Recipe

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1lb Chinese leaves, separated

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp corn flour (cornstarch)

  • 5 ml/1 tsp salt

  • 300 ml/1 1/4 cups chicken stock


Method:

  1. Arrange the leaves in an ovenproof bowl, place it on a rack in a steamer and steam over gently boiling water for 15 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, blend the corn flour, salt and stock over a gentle heat, bring to the boil and simmer, stirring, until the mixture thickens.

  3. Arrange the Chinese leaves on a warmed serving plate, pour over the sauce and serve.
