Chinese Beef Recipes - Beef with Chinese Pickles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 100 g/4 oz Chinese pickles, shredded

  • 450 g/1lb lean steak, sliced against the grain

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 5 ml/1 tsp salt

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp corn-flour (cornstarch)


Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and place in an ovenproof bowl.

  2. Stand the bowl on a rack in a steamer, cover and steam over boiling water for 40 minutes until the beef is cooked.
