Chinese Beef Recipes - Steak Strips Recipe

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1lb rump steak

  • 120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup chicken stock

  • 1 cm/1/2 in slice ginger root

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry

  • 15ml/1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 15ml/1 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil


Method:

  1. Firm the steak in the freezer then cut it into long thin slices.

  2. Mix together all the remaining ingredients and marinate the steak in the mixture for about 6 hours.

  3. Weave the steak on to soaked wooden skewers and grill for a few minutes until cooked to your liking, brushing occasionally with the marinade.
