Chinese Chicken
Recipes - Chicken with Green Beans Recipe
Ingredients

45 ml/3
tbsp groundnut
(peanut) oil
-
450 g/1 lb cooked chicken.
shredded
-
5 ml/1 tsp salt
-
2.5 ml/1/2 tsp freshly ground
pepper
-
225 g/8 oz green beans. cut
into pieces
-
1 stalk celery, diagonally
sliced
-
225 g/8 oz mushrooms.
sliced
-
250 ml/8 fl oz/1 cup
chicken stock
-
30 ml/2 tbsp corn-flour
(cornstarch)
-
60 ml/4 tbsp water
-
10 ml/2 tsp soy sauce
Method:
-
Heat the oil and fry the chicken, salt and pepper
until lightly browned.
-
Add the beans, celery and
mushrooms and mix well. Add the stock, bring to
the boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
-
Mix
the corn-flour, water and soy sauce to a paste, stir
it into the pan and simmer, stirring, until the
sauce clears and thickens.
