Chinese Chicken Recipes - Chicken with Water Chestnuts Recipe
Ingredients

45 ml/3 tbsp
groundnut (peanut) oil
-
2 cloves garlic,
crushed
-
2 spring onions
(scallions), chopped
-
1 slice ginger
root, chopped
-
225 g/8 oz chicken
breast, cut into slivers
-
100 gl4 oz water
chestnuts, cut into slivers

ml/3
tbsp soy
sauce
-
15 ml/1 tbsp rice
wine or dry sherry
-
5 ml/1 tsp
corn-flour (cornstarch)
Method:
-
Heat the oil and fry the garlic, spring onions and
ginger until lightly browned.
-
Add the chicken and
stir-fry for 5 minutes. Add the water chestnuts and
stir-fry for 3 minutes.

Add the soy sauce, wine or
sherry and corn-flour and stir-fry for about 5
minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
