Recipes - Chinese Roast Turkey Recipe
Ingredients
1 small
turkey
600ml/2 1/2
cups hot water
10ml/2 tsp
allspice
500ml/2 cups
soy sauce
5ml/1 tsp
sesame oil
10ml/2 tsp
salt
45ml/3 tbsp
butter
Method:
Place the turkey in a pan and pour over the hot
water. Add the remaining ingredients except the
butter and leave to stand for 1 hour, turning
several times.
Remove the turkey from the liquid and
brush with butter.
Place in a roasting tin, cover
loosely with kitchen foil and roast in a preheated
oven at 160C/325F/gas mark 3 for about 4 hours,
basting occasionally with the soy sauce liquid.
Remove the foil and allow the skin to crisp for the
last 30 minutes of cooking.
