Chinese Chicken Recipes - Five-Spice Chicken with
Potatoes Recipe
Ingredients

45 ml/3 tbsp groundnut
(peanut) oil
-
450 g/1lb chicken, cut
into chunks
-
salt
-
45 ml/3 tbsp yellow bean
paste
-
45 ml/3 tbsp soy sauce
-
5 ml/1 tsp sugar
-
5 ml/1 tsp five-spice
powder
-
1 potato, diced
-
450 ml/3/4 pt/2 cups
chicken stock
Method:

Heat the oil and stir-fry the chicken until lightly
browned.

Sprinkle with salt then stir in the bean
paste, soy sauce, sugar and five-spice powder and
stir-fry for 1 minute.

Add the potato and stir in
well then add the stock, bring to the boil, cover
and simmer for about 30 minutes until tender.
