Chinese Chicken Recipes - Honey Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil

  • 4 chicken pieces

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup rice wine or dry sherry

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp honey

  • 5 ml/1 tsp salt

  • 1 spring onion (scallion), chopped

  • 1 slice ginger root, finely chopped


Method:

  1. Heat the oil and fry the chicken until browned on all sides. Drain off excess oil.

  2. Mix together the remaining ingredients and pour them into the pan.

  3. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 40 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
