Chinese Chicken Recipes - Deep Fried Steamed Duck Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 duck

  • salt and freshly ground pepper

  • oil for deep-frying

  • hoisin sauce


Method:

  1. Season the duck with salt and pepper and place in a heatproof bowl.

  2. Stand in a pan filled with water to come two thirds of the way up the bowl, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours until the duck is tender. Drain and leave to cool.

  3. Heat the oil and deep-fry the duck until crispy and golden brown. Remove and drain well. Chop into bite-sized pieces and serve with hoisin sauce.
