Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Barbecued Maple Spare Ribs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 900 g/2 lb pork spare ribs

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp maple syrup

  • 5 ml/1 tsp salt

  • 5 ml/1 tsp sugar

  • 45 ml/3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed


Method:

  1. Chop the spare ribs in to 5 cm/2 in pieces and place in a bowl.

  2. Mix together all the ingredients, add the spare ribs and stir well. Cover and leave to marinate overnight.

  3. Grill (broil) or barbecue over a medium heat for about 30 minutes.
