Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Barbecued Pork Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pork fillets

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp red wine

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp honey

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 10 ml/2 tsp red food color (optional)

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 1 spring onion (scallion), cut into chunks


Method:

  1. Place the meat in a bowl. Mix together all the remaining ingredients, pour over the pork and leave to marinate for 2 hours, turning occasionally.

  2. Drain the meat and place it on a wire rack in a roasting tin.

  3. Cook in a preheated oven at 180C/350F/gas mark 4 for about 45 minutes, turning and basting with the marinade during cooking. Serve cut into thin slices.
