Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Chinese Roast Pork Recipe
Ingredients
1.25 kg/3 lb joint of pork,
thickly sliced
2 cloves garlic, finely
chopped
30 ml/2 tbsp rice wine or
dry sherry
15 ml/1 tbsp brown sugar
15 ml/1 tbsp honey
90 ml/6 tbsp soy sauce
2.5 ml/1/2 tsp five-spice
powder
Method:
Arrange the pork in a shallow dish. Mix together the
remaining ingredients, pour over the pork, cover and
marinate in the refrigerator overnight, turning and
basting occasionally.
Arrange the pork slices on a rack in a roasting tin
filled with a little water and baste well with the
marinade.
Roast in a preheated oven at
180C/350F/gas mark 5 for about 1 hour, basting
occasionally, until the pork is cooked.
