Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Deep-Fried Pork Balls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1lb minced (ground) pork

  • 1 slice ginger root, minced

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp corn-flour (cornstarch)

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp water

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt

  • 10 ml/2 tsp soy sauce

  • oil for deep-frying


Method:

  1. Mix the pork and ginger. Mix the corn-flour, water, salt and soy sauce then stir the mixture into the pork and mix well.

  2. Shape into walnut sized balls. Heat the oil and fry the pork balls until they rise to the top of the oil.

  3. Remove from the oil and reheat. Return the pork to the pan and fry for 1 minute. Drain well.
