Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Deep-Fried Pork Fillet Recipe

Ingredients

  • 350 g/12 oz pork fillet, cubed

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 5 ml/1 tsp sesame oil

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp corn-flour (cornstarch)

  • oil for deep-frying


Method:

  1. Mix together the pork, wine or sherry, soy sauce, sesame oil and corn-flour so that the pork is coated with a thick batter.

  2. Heat the oil and deep-fry the pork for about 3 minutes until crisp. Remove the pork from the pan, reheat the oil and deep-fry again for about 3 minutes.
