Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Pork Egg Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 225 g/8 oz lean pork, shredded

  • 1 slice ginger root, minced

  • 1 spring onion, chopped

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp water

  • 12 egg roll skins

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • oil for deep-frying


Method:

  1. Mix together the pork, ginger, onion, soy sauce and water. Place a little of the ruling on the centre of each skin and brush the edges with beaten egg.

  2. Fold in the sides then roll the egg roll away from you, sealing the edges with egg. Steam on a rack in a steamer for 30 minutes until the pork is cooked.

  3. Heat the oil and deep-fry for a few minutes until crisp and golden.
