Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Pork and Prawn Wontons Recipe

Ingredients

  • 225 g/8 oz minced (ground) pork

  • 2 spring onions (scallions), chopped

  • 100 g/4 oz mixed vegetables, chopped

  • 100 g/4 oz mushrooms, chopped

  • 225 g/8 oz peeled prawns, chopped

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt

  • 40 wanton skins

  • oil for deep-frying


Method:

  1. Heat a pan and fry the pork and spring onions until lightly browned. Stir in the remaining ingredients.

  2. To fold the wontons, hold the skin in the palm of your left hand and spoon a little filling into the centre. Moisten the edges with egg and fold the skin into a triangle, sealing the edges. Moisten the corners with egg and twist them together.

  3. Heat the oil and fry the wontons a few at a time until golden brown. Drain well before serving.
