Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Pork with Tofu Recipe
Ingredients
450 g/1lb lean pork
45 ml/3 tbsp groundnut (peanut)
oil
1 onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
225 g/8 oz tofu, cubed
375 ml/13 fl oz
chicken stock
15 ml/1 tbsp brown sugar
60 ml/4 tbsp soy sauce
2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt
Method:
Place the pork in a saucepan and cover with water.
Bring to the boil then simmer for 5 minutes. Drain
and leave to cool then cut into cubes.
Heat the oil and fry the onion and garlic until
lightly browned. Add the pork and fry until lightly
browned. Add the tofu and stir gently until coated
with oil.
Add the stock, sugar, soy sauce and salt,
bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 40
minutes until the pork is tender.
