Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Pork with Walnuts Recipe
Ingredients
50 g/1/2 cup walnuts
225 g/8 oz lean pork, cut into
strips
30 ml/2 tbsp plain
(all-purpose) flour
30 ml/2 tbsp brown sugar
30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce
oil for deep-frying
15 ml/1 tbsp groundnut (peanut)
oil
Method:
Blanch the walnuts in boiling water for 2 minutes
then drain. Mix the pork with the flour, sugar and
15 ml/1 tbsp of soy sauce until well coated.
Heat
the oil and deep-fry the pork until crispy and
golden. Drain on kitchen paper. Heat the groundnut
(peanut) oil and stir-fry the walnuts until golden.
Add the pork to the pan, sprinkle with the remaining
soy sauce and stir-fry until heated through.
