Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Steamed Ham Recipe

Ingredients

  • 900 g/2 lb fresh ham

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry


Method:

  1. Place the ham in a heatproof dish on a rack, cover and steam over boiling water for about 1 hour.

  2. Add the sugar and wine or sherry to the dish, cover and steam for a further 1 hour or until the ham is cooked.

  3. Leave to cool in the bowl before slicing.
