Chinese Pork and Ham Recipes - Steamed Meat Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1lb minced (ground) pork

  • 4 water chestnuts, finely chopped

  • 225 g/8 oz mushrooms, finely chopped

  • 5 ml/1 tsp soy sauce

  • salt and freshly ground pepper

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten


Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together well and shape the mixture into a flat pie on an ovenproof plate.

  2. Place the plate on a rack in a steamer, cover and steam for 1 1/2 hours.
