Chinese Rice Recipes - Fried Rice with Beef and Onions Recipe

Ingredients

  • 450g/1 lb lean beef, thinly sliced

  • 45ml/3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 15ml/1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry

  • salt and freshly ground pepper

  • 15ml/1 tbsp corn-flour

  • 45ml/3 tbsp peanut oil

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 225g/8oz cooked long-grain rice


Method:

  1. Marinate the beef in the soy sauce, wine or sherry, salt, pepper and corn-flour for 15 minutes.

  2. Heat the oil and fry the onion until lightly browned. Add the beef and marinade and stir-fry for 3 minutes.

  3. Add the rice and stir-fry until heated through.
