Chinese Rice Recipes - Prawn Fried Rice Recipe

Ingredients

  • 225g/8oz long-grain rice

  • 750ml/3 cups water

  • 225g/8oz peeled prawns

  • 30ml/2 tbsp peanut oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 5ml/1 tbsp soy sauce


Method:

  1. Place the rice and water in a saucepan, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes until the rice is cooked. Drain well.

  2. Heat the oil with the garlic and salt and fry until the garlic turns light golden.

  3. Add the rice and onion and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the prawns and stir-fry for 2 minutes.

  4. Stir in the soy sauce before serving.
