Chinese Rice Recipes - Rice with Beef Recipe

Ingredients

  • 225g/1 cup long-grain rice

  • 100g/4oz minced beef

  • 1 slice ginger root, minced

  • 15ml/1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 15ml/1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry

  • 5ml/1 tsp peanut oil

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp sugar

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp salt


Method:

  1. Place the rice in a large pan and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes until most of the liquid has been absorbed.

  2. Mix together the remaining ingredients, arrange on top of the rice, cover and cook for a further 20 minutes over a low heat until cooked.

  3. Stir the ingredients together before serving.
