Deep-Fried Sesame Prawns Recipe
Ingredients

450 g/1lb peeled prawns
-
1/2 egg white
-
5 ml/1 tsp soy sauce
-
5 ml/1 tsp sesame oil
-
50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup corn-flour
(cornstarch)
-
salt and freshly ground white
pepper
-
oil for deep-frying
-
60 ml/4 tbsp sesame seeds
-
lettuce leaves
Method:
-
Mix the prawns with the egg white, soy sauce, sesame
oil, corn-flour, salt and pepper. Add a little water
if the mixture is too thick.

Heat the oil and
deep-fry the prawns for a few minutes until lightly
golden.

Meanwhile, toast the sesame seeds briefly in
a dry pan until golden. Drain the prawns and mix
with the sesame seeds. Serve on a bed of lettuce.
