Far Eastern Style Prawns Recipe
Ingredients

16 -20 peeled king prawns
-
juice of 1 lemon
-
120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup dry
white wine
-
30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce
-
30 ml/2 tbsp honey
-
15 ml/1 tbsp grated lemon
rind salt and pepper
-
45 ml/3 tbsp groundnut
(peanut) oil
-
1 clove garlic, chopped
-
6 spring onions cut into
strips
-
2 carrots, cut into strips
-
5 ml/1 tsp five-spice
powder
-
5 ml/1 tsp corn-flour
(cornstarch)
Method:

Mix the prawns with the lemon juice, wine, soy
sauce, honey and lemon rind and season with salt and
pepper. Cover and marinate for 1 hour.

Heat the oil
and fry the garlic until lightly browned. Add the
vegetables and stir-fry until tender but still
crisp.

Drain the prawns, add them to the pan and
stir-fry for 2 minutes.

Strain the marinade and mix
it with the five-spice powder and corn-flour. Add to
the wok, stir well and bring to the boil.
