Fried Prawn Balls with Onion Sauce Recipe
Ingredients

3 eggs, lightly beaten
-
45ml/3 tbsp plain
(all-purpose) flour
-
salt and freshly ground
pepper
-
450 g/1lb peeled prawns
-
oil for deep-frying
-
15ml/1 tbsp groundnut
(peanut) oil
-
2 onions, chopped
-
15ml/1 tbsp corn-flour
(cornstarch)
-
30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce
-
175 ml/3/4 cup water
Method:

Mix the eggs, flour, salt and pepper. Toss the
prawns in the batter. Heat the oil and deep-fry the
prawns until golden brown.

Meanwhile, heat the oil
and fry the onions for 1 minute. Blend the remaining
ingredients to a paste, stir into the onions and
cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens.

Drain the
prawns and arrange on a warmed serving plate. Pour
over the sauce and serve at once.
