Chinese Seafood Recipes - Prawns with Tomatoes Chili Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp minced ginger

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp minced garlic

  • 15ml/1 tbsp minced spring onion

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp tomato puree (paste)

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp chili sauce

  • 450 g/1lb peeled prawns

  • 5 ml/1 tbsp corn-flour (cornstarch)

  • 15m/1 tbsp water


Method:

  1. Heat the oil and stir-fry the ginger, garlic and spring onion for 1 minute.

  2. Add the tomato puree and chili sauce and mix well. Add the prawns and stir-fry for 2 minutes.

  3. Blend the corn-flour and water to a paste, stir it into the pan and simmer until the sauce thickens. Serve at once.
