Chinese Seafood Recipes - Steamed Fish Balls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1lb minced (ground) cod

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • 1 slice ginger root, minced

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt

  • pinch of freshly ground pepper

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp corn-flour (cornstarch)

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry


Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together well and shape into walnut-sized balls. Dust with a little flour if necessary. Arrange in a shallow ovenproof dish.

  2. Stand the dish on a rack in a steamer, cover and steam over gently simmering water for about 10 minutes until cooked.
