Chinese Chicken Recipes - Spiced Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil

  • 5 ml/1 tsp salt

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 900 g/2 lb chicken wings

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp tomato puree (paste)

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce


Method:

  1. Heat the oil, salt and garlic and fry until the garlic turns light golden.

  2. Add the chicken wings and fry, stir­ring frequently, for about 10 minutes until golden brown and almost cooked through.

  3. Add the remaining ingredients and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the chicken is crispy and thoroughly cooked.
