Chinese Chicken Recipes - Sweet and Sour Chicken Livers Recipe
Ingredients

30 ml/2 tbsp groundnut
(peanut) oil
-
450 g/1lb chicken livers,
quartered
-
2 green peppers, cut into
chunks
-
4 slices canned pineapple,
cut into chunks
-
60 ml/4 tbsp chicken stock
-
30 ml/2 tbsp corn-flour
(cornstarch)
-
10 ml/2 tsp soy sauce
-
100 g/4 oz/1/2 cup sugar
-
120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup wine
vinegar
-
120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup water
Method:
-
Heat the oil and fry the livers until lightly
browned then transfer them to a warmed serving dish.
Add the peppers to the pan and fry for 3 minutes.

Add the pineapple and stock, bring to the boil,
cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

Blend the remaining
ingredients to a paste, stir into the pan and
simmer, stirring, until the sauce thickens. Pour
over the chicken livers and serve.
