Seafood Recipes - Stir-Fried Abalone And Chinese Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp peanut oil

  • 1 inch (2.5cm) piece of fresh green ginger, peeled and chopped

  • 1 small leek, white part only, thinly sliced into rings

  • 1 small Chinese cabbage, shredded

  • 1/4 tsp MSG (optional)

  • salt and white pepper to taste

  • 2 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 lb (45g) canned abalone, drained and sliced


Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying-pan. When it is hot, add the ginger and leek and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the cabbage and stir-fry for 4 minutes, or until the cabbage is cooked but still crisp.

  2. Sprinkle over the MSG, if you are using it, salt, pepper, soy sauce and lemon juice. stir in the abalone and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a warmed serving dish and serve at once.
