Stir-Braised Cauliflower With Parsley
Ingredients
4 tbsp peanut oil
1 medium cauliflower, broken
into flowerets
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp 5-spice powder
2/3 cup (150ml) vegetable or
beef stock
2 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry
4 tbsp chopped parsley
Method:
Heat the oil in a large frying-pan. When it is hot,
add the cauliflower, onion, garlic and ginger and
stir-fry for 5 minutes. Pour over the stock and wine
for sherry, then stir in the parsley.
Bring to the boil, cover the pan and cook the
mixture over moderate heat for 7 minutes, stirring
occasionally.
Transfer the mixture to a warmed serving dish and
serve at once.
