Chinese Vegetables Recipes - Celery in Cream Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 small celery heart

  • 7 dessertspoons water

  • pinch each salt, sugar and Ve-Tsin (M.S.G.)

  • 4 tablespoons top of milk

  • 3/4 teaspoon corn-flour


Method:

  1. Cook the celery in slightly salted boiling water for 20 minutes.

  2. Place 6 dessertspoons of water and the seasonings in a small pan and bring to the boil. Add the milk and then the corn-flour, blended with the remaining water, and boil for 1 1/2 minutes.

  3. Drain the celery and gently press out the remaining moisture in a linen cloth. Cut the celery into 6 pieces and arrange them in a heated serving dish. Spoon the sauce over them.
