Chinese Vegetables Recipes - Chinese Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons bean sprouts

  • 2 tablespoons shredded pickled carrots (in jars)

  • 2 tablespoons shredded pickled cabbage (in jars)

  • 1 tablespoon shredded green pepper

  • 2 rings canned pineapple

  • 1 good-sized firm ripe tomato or 2 small ones

  • 1 lettuce heart


Method:

  1. Pick over the beans sprouts then drop them into boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Drain, pour cold water over them and drain very well again.

  2. Combine the sprouts with the well drained pickled vegetables and the green pepper.

  3. Place them on a serving dish and garnish with the pineapple rings (each halved, slantwise). halved large tomato or whole small ones and halved heart of lettuce.
