Ingredients
1 medium-sized onion
2 tomatoes (choose firm and
ripe)
1 tablespoon peanut oil
pinch each salt, sugar and
Ve-Tsin
(M.S.G.)
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
4 tablespoons hot chicken
stock
3/4 teaspoon corn-flour
1 tablespoon water
1 onion
'flower'
Method:
Roughly chop the
onion. Cut the firm tomatoes into eighths and set
aside. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion in it for 4 minutes, tossing it about.
Add a pinch salt,
pinch sugar, pinch Ve-Tsin, soy sauce and chicken
stock and cook for a further 2 minutes.
Add the
tomatoes and gently move them about so as not to
break them up.
Blend the
corn-flour with the water, stir it in and boil for 1
1/2
minutes. Turn into a heated serving dish and garnish
with the onion 'flower'.
