Ingredients

fl oz/1/2 cups milk

tbsp butter

15 ml/1
tbsp rice wine or dry sherry

5 ml/1 tsp
sugar

2.5 ml/1/2
tsp salt

15 ml/1
tbsp corn flour (cornstarch)

45 ml/3
tbsp water
Method:
-
Heat the milk to just below boiling. Stir in the
butter, wine or sherry, sugar and salt and heat
through gently.

Mix the corn flour and water to a paste, stir it
into the sauce and simmer, stirring, until the sauce
thickens. Pour over chicken or vegetables to serve.
