Chinese Marinades and Condiments Recipes - Sugar Marinade Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 slice ginger root, minced

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp brown sugar

  • 45 ml/3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp five-spice powder

  • 5 ml/1 tsp rice wine or dry sherry


Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and rub over spare ribs.

  2. Leave to stand for 1 hour, basting occasionally, then drain and cook. Baste with the marinade while cooking.
